Marina Olivares’ artistic practice (Barcelona, 1996) investigates the cultural entanglements of human and more-than-human bodies and their affects. Her work combines research and fiction to imagine possible scenarios, that often involve queer ecology and affective theory lenses to reflect on relational dynamics such as seduction, grief, and bodily behaviour. Drawing from a trajectory that bridges visual and performing arts, she develops a transdisciplinary practice that takes form through performance, installation, and video.
She holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona, completed an exchange at the Manchester School of Art, and received professional acting training at the Nancy Tuñón Studio, among other acting training. She also studied the Master in Critical Contextual Design at ELISAVA with a portfolio-based scholarship.
Her work has been presented in venues such as Kasseler Dokfest, Fundació Miró, Sala d’Art Jove, La Virreina, and Art Nou, and she has been in residencies in Marseille, Berlin, Les Cabanyes, and Berga. In parallel to her art production, she has worked as an actress, art mediator, performer, and creative in both her own projects and those of other artists—for example, as part of the cast of ACLUCALLS by LaSadcum, presented at Teatros del Canal and the CCCB Theatre, among other venues. She has also collaborated on several projects with Domestic Data Streamers in roles including creative direction, cultural mediation, and performance. Additionally, she was co-founder of the collectives Onzena Edició and Matriu.id (in residence at Sala Beckett for two years), among other scenic research collectives she has been part of.

La práctica artística de Marina Olivares (Barcelona, 1996) investiga los entrelazamientos culturales en cuerpos humanos y más-que-humanos y sus afectos. Su trabajo incorpora investigación y ficción para imaginar escenarios posibles, que a menudo incorporan perspectivas de la ecología queer y de teoría afectiva para reflexionar sobre dinámicas relacionales i como la seducción, el duelo, o el comportamiento corporal. Desde una trayectoria que cruza artes visuales y escénicas, desarrolla una práctica transdisciplinar que toma forma en performance, instalación y vídeo.
Es graduada en Bellas Artes por la Universidad de Barcelona, cursó una estancia en la Manchester School of Art y completó formación actoral profesional en el Estudi Nancy Tuñón, y otras formaciones de interpretación. También estudió el Máster en Critical Contextual Design en ELISAVA con una beca seleccionada por portafolio.
Ha mostrado su obra en espacios como Kasseler Dokfest, Fundació Miró, Sala d’Art Jove, La Virreina y Art Nou, y ha estado en residencias en Marsella, Berlín, Les Cabanyes y Berga. En paralelo a su producción artística ha trabajado como actriz, mediadora de arte, performer y creativa, en proyectos propios y de otros artistas, por ejemplo siendo parte del elenco de la pieza ACLUCALLS de LaSadcum, representada en Teatros del Canal y Teatro del CCCB, entre otros. Ha colaborado en varios proyectos con Domestic Data Streamers en la dirección creativa, mediación cultural y performance. También fue cofundadora de los colectivos Onzena Edició y de Matriu.id (en residencia en la Sala Beckett durante dos años), entre otros colectivos de investigación escénica de los que ha formado parte.
